Dr. Anoop Swarup

Dr. Anoop Swarup is PhD, and a recipient of Hiroshima Peace Award, Japan, Presidential Award, India, Ambassador of Peace Award Australia, honorary doctorates, fellowships and medals, An ardent Gandhian he has over 40 years of distinguished professional experience in diverse roles as an educationist and life scientist, poet, writer and columnist, futurist and peace activist, social entrepreneur and civil servant, working in diverse roles as Executive Director NYKS, Ministry of HRD, Director (Anti-smuggling) and Director (Customs) and Commissioner, Ministry of Finance, Member Indian Revenue Service, United Nations Representative with UNSC, Emeritus Professor in India and abroad and as Vice Chancellor since 2008.

He has a meritorious academic record with top positions from Universities in India and abroad with Scholarships and Fellowships such as the National Science Talent, CSIR JRF, UGC SRF, under the Colombo Plan to Australia, the Mahatma Gandhi Fellowship, and as a Fulbright visitor to the US. To his credit are several cited research papers and books, notable being ‘Aloha’ and ‘Arcadia’ book of Poems, ‘Give Nonviolence a Chance’ released by the Hon’ble Prime Minister at India International Centre, ‘Give Nonkilling a Chance’, released by Hon’ble President Pranab Mukherjee, other books and publications include, ‘Indian Civilization Through the Millennium’, Bio Innovations and Entrepreneurship’, ‘The World of Money laundering, Commercial frauds & Financial Crimes’ and ‘Regional Economic Engagements & Free Trade Agreements.

He has been a promoter and Director Companies in India and abroad such as Global Opportunities Commercialization, Global Knowledge Alliance, and Nobles Knowledge Network and on the Board of Association of Universities of Asia Pacific, Association of Indian Universities, and Central Board of Secondary Association as also many Companies such as Avesthagen and Symstream. As Editor at Large of ‘Jagran International Journal of Contemporary Research’, Newsroom 24×7, Chief Editor, ‘International Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology’ and Editor ‘Nice Journal of Business’, he has promoted scientific research as also innovations and enterprise across the world.

Ahmed Tohow

Director East African Affairs

Ahmed Tohow is based in Australia from Somalia origin; he has completed a Master of Terrorism and Security Studies as well as Master and bachelor degree of International Development Studies from Charles Sturt, RMIT and Latrobe University respectively.

Ahmed Tohow is recognized global leader and strategist in East African Affairs. His passion is to enhance Peace Building and Nation Building capabilities by bringing together international agencies, governments and local communities through education, cultural alignment and business for wealth generation. He has expertise in international trade, including mining and food resources. He has cultivated personal relationships with senior officials in national governments, tribal groups, commercial organizations, key influencers and education institutions.

He has over 15 years-experience dealing with civil and security affairs during the civil war in the horn of Africa. He brings to GOC comprehensive expertise and experience in understanding key drivers for nation building, including the importance of strategic peace building initiatives and establishing national and international commerce supply chain pathways.

Research assistant at Monash University

Dr. Stephanie Carver recently completed her PhD studies in political orders in Somalia. She examined the role of non state actors in affecting the development of political orders in Somalia as a result of maritime piracy. Her research interests include women and peace building and the role of Diaspora in peace building and political orders. She has recently published on the role of Turkish involvement in the Somali political terrain and on foreign fighter (forthcoming).
